Hi All,
We created a new field to capture server alias name. How to get the server alias name from Discovery ? Currently we are using probes and sensors for discovery.

Did you look at the DNS Aliases? They are related to the Server via the IP Addresses registered for that Server. There shouldn't be a need to have a custom field.

Hi Paulyphonica,
Majority of our servers are running in vmware and AWS.
DNS Aliases : cmdb_ci_dns_alias table is empty. our existing discovery probes are not returning any alias names.

Is there any documentation for cmdb_ci_dns_alias? I'm not finding any. I have DNS aliases to Load balancers, and trying to figure out how to get that information discovered and mapped to the LB service.

I'm facing the same challenge and found out that there is a property that can help you with this. Check this support doc: https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0852931
