@Sam_Nat Tag Based Mapping is designed to take advantage of tagged resources regardless of whether they sit in the cloud or a data centre. If your organisation has good tag governance it is a ideal way of building Service Maps without having to be able to log in to devices/services directly, which is one of the problems you will encounter if any of the applications you want to map are in the cloud.
Tag Governance is the key though, as if the tagging of resources gets out of control then the maps become useless.
Did you identify any PaaS resources being employed when you spoke to the Application SME's regarding mapping their Applications?
