ServiceNow recommends to disable configuration file tracking. Why?

In one of the docs, ServiceNow recommends to disable configuration file tracking. Why so? Any particular circumstances it will cause issue? 

Doc just recommends to disable without providing any reason 😕

One reason to not collect Tracked Configuration files are they can contain sensitive information including credentials.

I am not sure about that. please check, cmdb_ci_config_file_tracked table has any license count associated with it. From a technical standpoint, i wouldn't see anything wrong activating it.

can you paste a screenshot of where it is mentioned that is recommended to be set to 'False'. The link you pasted is for nowlearning site.

This is a Troubleshooting guide not a configuration guide. Perhaps setting it to false is for troubleshooting issues.

Hi @Brian Lancaster Yes its is a troubleshooting guide, but that particular section just talks about BEST PRACTICES/RECOMMENDATIONS to follow
