In one of the docs, ServiceNow recommends to disable configuration file tracking. Why so? Any particular circumstances it will cause issue?
Doc just recommends to disable without providing any reason 😕

hi @Suggy,
I am not sure about that. please check, cmdb_ci_config_file_tracked table has any license count associated with it. From a technical standpoint, i wouldn't see anything wrong activating it.
Regards,
Srinija

This is a Troubleshooting guide not a configuration guide. Perhaps setting it to false is for troubleshooting issues.
