Hi Nice, Experienced, Thoughtful People,
Before San Diego, it was possible to create a dynamic CI group that would automatically set attributes on a CI, like Change Group, Approval Group, Support Group. I don't find those options since upgrading to San Diego. Did the capabilities move? Were they deprecated? What's the path forward?
Thanks for info and guidance.

Hi Alan,
I have not messed around with it pre-San Diego, but this article is what I used to configure it https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/sandiego-servicenow-platform/page/product/csdm-implementation/task/csdm-enable-tso.html
Basically, create the CMDB Group Dynamic CI Group and Technical Service Offering, then populate the groups on the offering and relate the offering to the Dynamic group. It looks as though there is a "CSDM Data Sync" job that will run to update the values on the CI's in the CMDB Group.
Messing around with it in a test instance now, seems to work OK. Looks as though the Managed By Group, Support Group and Change Group attributes from the Technical Service Offering get synchronised to the Dynamic CI group and then will be syncronised from there to the CI's as they are added to the Dynamic CI Group (via the CMDB CI Group)
Hope this helps
Regards,
David

This feature should still work. We had an issue after the upgrading to San Diego that it was not working. You need to update or repair the plugin id:com.snc.cmdb (I found it faster with "Configuration management (CMDB)")

We did see sync not working correctly, and the repair of com.snc.cmdb fixed the issue. Thanks for sharing!
