SNow Field by Field descriptions for Business and Applications Services

Is there a list that contains a description for the fields in ServiceNow as it relates to Configuration Management?

Ok.. let's do it another way.   In the left navigator, type sys_documentation.list:

find_real_file.png

It will open the Field Label table:

find_real_file.png

Put cmdb in the table search and hit enter:

find_real_file.png

That will give you practically every field in the cmdb (cmdb_ci is the base table and there are a lot that extend off that, but they all start with cmdb).

I just removed the empty hints, but that is where you will get your information.

Yes.   Right-click the header row:

find_real_file.png

Also, if you click that little gear in the upper left, you can choose which data you want to export in your spreadsheet:

Just click the Available ones, hit that top arrow in the middle and it will allow you to add.   To remove from the right, you highlight the field and click the other way.   Once you have the exact columns you want, then do the export.

Thank you Mike!

You have helped me so much!!! it just helps to be able to see the table names/fields that support CMDB. I am very new at ServiceNow but just trying to play around so that I can understand what fields are not available as we migrate over to ServiceNow in the future.

Hi Taniak,

Pleasure to "meet" you. Mike's great! Hope you're all settled with your CMDB needs.

If you need assistance with your CMDB implementation, please give us a call. We're happy to get you set up with an Automated CMDB along with Automated Service Mapping. In fact, please feel free to view our quick videos on these too.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks Lisa,

I really appreciate it. My organization has a team of folks from ServiceNow that will help with implementation. Currently, we are assessing need/requirements for our future migration.
