Standalone ESXi servers

Hi,

I'm trying to discover a bunch of Standalone ESXi servers in our environment, and I found a couple of articles that may contradict each other.

Standalone ESXi discovery

Standalone ESXi discovery supports discovery of individual ESXi servers that host virtual machines (VMs) and related components without a vCenter. Various CIs and relationships are discovered as part of a discovery schedule.

ESXi server discovery

Discovery identifies and classifies information about ESXi servers and ESXi resource pools through the discovery of vCenter and not from the direct discovery of any ESXi servers.

Important: ESXi server discovery is done through vCenter. Do not specify the IP address of the ESXi server in a Discovery Schedule. Instead, discover the vCenter through the Discovery Schedule.

I enabled the esxi probe and got credentials set on a standalone ESXi, I just want to make sure whether or not is supported (both articles were updated the same day, hence my question).

Thanks

Hi @Canjura,

Standalone ESXI Server discovery is not possible, please check the permission and pre-req, Also Servicenow Instance version must be after Quebec release.
