Storage Discovery Pre-requisutes

I am bit new to Service Now Discovery.
Wanted to know what are the pre-requisites for storage discovery ...i.e credentials, ports etc ?

Would be really helpful if someone can share the experience on how to get this done.

we use a Linux box with something called Data ONTAP SMI-S Agent installed to it. (http://www.netapp.com/in/company/leadership/industry-standards/smi-s.aspx)

We then scan that Linux server and it picks up the NetApp storage appliances. I've attached an image of what that discovery looks like.

I created a new discovery behavior called NetApp which uses the functionality definition of SLP & CIM. Also, I had to create a "CIM" type of credential for the 'root' user of ONTAP (not the Linux box but the software; both have login accounts).

So, if your storage admin has no issue with ONTAP that is a good way to discover NetApp devices.

Thanks a lot.

Also it would be really helpful if we have any document which lists the supported devices for storage discovery.

If the device meets these requirements then we should be able to discover it..

Did you get any relationships for the storage devices like server to application or any?
