We have recently started the Tag based service mapping in our environment. We have created manually created the CI Tag Categories and Tag Based Service Families.

My question is do we need add the Tag Based Service Families each time and Map to the CI tag Categories manually?

Is there any scope of any kind of automation we can implement?

Hi there!

If you, when creating your Tag-based Service Families, select "Regularly Update Service Candidates" as show in the attachment, and then you will get "Application Service Candidates" as the output of a scheduled job.

From that you can navigate to the Tag-Based Service family to review the suggested candidates, and if you're happy once you've viewed the map - choose to map them. This has to be done manually, as "Service Context" isn't discoverable - somebody from the Business must agree with what the Platform has suggested.

If your tagging policy or family requirements change, you'll need to alter the family and recalculate the Services as directed here.

Hope that helps!

Sam

Hi Sam,

Thanks for the answer, I have one more question.  Can we Map the Tag to the existing business services rather creating new one each time. Like every time I create a new Tag based Service Families it creates a record under Business Service class.

Instead can we Map that to existing Business Services?

Not sure if you have got my question.. Let me put in other way as well.

Can we Map a tag to a Existing Business Services which we created already.

If yes, what is the process?

Hi Suman

Did you get answer to your question? Were you able to map the tag based service map to an existing business service?

Hello @Suman21 @Amruta8

Did you get a answer for this question? I am  facing the same issue.
