Dear all,
There is a requirement today to scope for VM Provisioning. I am being told that there are two ways of solutioning this requirement:
a. To build a custom catalog.
b. To use the ITOM Cloud Accelerate.
I have been tasked with differentiating the two and present the advantages of one over the other.
While I am not aware of the topic, I am looking for good resources to make myself more knowledgeable about it. I have a basic idea of how VM works and that's all. Kindly help.
Regards,
Anish

Take a look at this blog explaining how a simple VM provisioning via cloud accelerate CSC (cloud service catalog) capability. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/shreya-shikha_how-i-created-a-simple-catalog-item-in-servicenow-activ...
the short of it is -
- you can build lego pieces or you can use the full module - the cloud accelerate capabilities can create catalog item in minutes, from a IaC template (e.g. terraform) and you can test it quickly for provisioning
- this will also ensure that the cmdb is updated immediately
- the form generated is linked with your accounts, regions, etc - so you need to spend less effort to build catalog item
overall, the csc capability in cloud accelerate can help you speed up your catalog item offering creation.
hope this helps. feel free to write to me if you need further questions explained ram<at>servicenow<dot>com
