Can anyone helps to explain what exactly are those "Router interface" CIs discovered by Discovery? What are those for? For e.g. I am looking at a Cisco NX-OS n7000 device, it is discovered to have 522 Router Interfaces, some of them have IP address and some don't..
Thanks.

Thanks Doug, that is very helpful. But I may still need some quick clarification if you can help - I was looking at the discovery results and found many Router interfaces CI don't have a mac address, it only has name, is that normal? This seems has caused many duplicates reported in CMDB health dashboard.

Thanks Doug. That is very helpful, though I think I also need some quick clarification, I was looking at the discovery results and found lots Router interface CIs discovered without mac address and IP, it only has a name, is this normal? We have many duplicates found in CMDB health dashboard for the Router interface class, I wonder if this is caused by the CIs without mac address and IP.

Definitely sounds as such, usually, I see it the opposite, mac and IPs but no name.. Check your discovery returns and see if the device is actually returning the full data package or if its having problems answering the questions (OIDs) we're requesting.
