How does the Business Application tie in? In the CSDM diagram it consumes  application services and possibly technical service. I would have thought that Business Service would be below that but I see its not.

I second the Business Application inquiry related to services.  How does the Business Application logically fit into this hierarchy and flow?  Being in IT I've historically considered Business Applications the top of the stack.  But your explanation makes me rethink that.

Business Service (and Business Service Offering below it) are the top of the Customer's stack because for them this is about Service (and ultimately Value), not about the underpinning technology. See also Rahul's great explanation above.
They are in the green part of the CSDM.

Think of the business service as how your customer "sees" the application or technical service.  It can be a webform, digital product etc.  Your consumer doesn't see the servers/hardware that support it (technical service or application service provides that to operations).  If its tied to an application service, then its also related to a business application.
