The SNMP listener runs on the MID Server, which acts as a collection endpoint for SNMP traps. The MID Server sends the traps to the ServiceNow instance for further processing as an event by Event Management.
MID server:The name of the designated MID Server if you selected Specific MID Server in the Execute on field. The name of the designated MID Server cluster if you selected Specific MID Server Cluster in the Execute on field. If you selected Specific MID Server Cluster, a ServiceNow algorithm determines which server in the cluster runs the extension.

SNMP Traps
SNMP Traps are events that we wish to capture on any SNMP enabled device. Some event examples are; a service state (e.g. up/down) on a host, a hardware failure on a server, invalid login attempt on a network device or even a printer being out of paper. The trap requires the device to send a Trap to a SNMP Trap Manager which will be a service/application running on a Host system.
