what is the relationship between ham ,sam,& cmdb

Hello Team
I need your help to understand the how the ham , SAM data can be reflect in CMDB
means it create the two different CI for HAM & SAM or it create only one
another think if you have reference documents how the CMDB,HAM,SAM are related with each other please share with me it will be great to understand.
I tried other source but not getting exact option.

On high level its like this
CMDB Data is made up of S/W and Hardware CIs
SAM - Licensed/Unlicensed S/W CI
HAM - Hardware CIs with defined models n all
if you have Service Now Discovery also then its like
Snow Discovery --->SAM & HAM -----> CMDB data
SAM , HAM data is majorly consumed by ITSM and SPM module (APM Specially)
