We have many cameras deployed, most of which are IP based video cameras.
Is there an OOB CI table or category for IP video surveillance equipment? If not, should I extend a CI table? Or just create a new category in the CI accessory table?
What are your thoughts? Does anyone else have the need to keep track of Video Surveillance cameras (and the associated servers and switches) in their CMDB?

Hi Eric,
You can create your own class for particular set of equipment if it is not available OOB.

Eric K,
Use cmdb_ci_comm (Communication Devices) and add a new atribute on field Type.

There is new OOB CI Class IP Camera (cmdb_ci_ip_camera) which you can see more details from CI Class Manager.
Configuration Item > Hardware > IoT Device > Imaging Device > IP Camera
