Firstly try to remove the duplication.
check which class the CI belongs to and find their identifiers (lets say if its name, then rename the device to make it look diffrent from orginal one.)
and then change the state or status to retired for the duplicated CI.
Now if discovery runs it wont be able to find 2 records to update...

Hi @GP001,
Any how discovery find this device to be active and being use as reason it sets the status back to installed. If you update the state to retired and when discovery run it will change the state to its actual state.
is there any reason that your trying to set the value to retired when its actually being used ? Whats your use case...

The client mentioned that if it's a duplicate, the name will be the same and the status should be "Retired" for the duplicate one. For the original, the status will be "Installed". However, the status changes from "Retired" to "Installed". Can you please tell me the reason for this change?
