Hi Krish, you ask "If client has to configure mid server in their network then what is the use of cloud services   and mean of agentless benefit"

First of all that is required is a MID or several MIDs in the customer environment that have access to the targets. These are not considered agents. Discovery using Agentless discovery because we don't require an agent on every target that needs to be discovered unlike some other discovery tools in the market. That is a huge benefit without needing to maintain 100's of 1000's of agents on all the targets.

ServiceNow is a Cloud Services provider so basically it means that all data discovered is stored in the cloud and not on system in the customer environment.

So the take away is install the MID in the customer network/datacenter as close to the targets that need to be discovered. No agents are needed on the targets and all the discovered data is stored in the customer ServiceNow instance in the Cloud.

You have to install it in your client Machine. Download the mid-server file, Put it on Client server and then configured it.

Mid server is user to connect with your company server to import/export/discovery etc. if you are not using these functionality,no need of mid-server.

Mid server installed on your client server to bypass the firewall and securities of your network like a channel.once installed and configure, Service-now sent/import data to midserver and there your other application can pull/send the data.

So in other words, we will need to install the MID server in every clients environment if we are a managed service provider? Since all the MID servers will be communicating with one instance of our ServiceNow, how is security managed in terms of segregating the data of various customers?
