Hi Krish, you ask "If client has to configure mid server in their network then what is the use of cloud services and mean of agentless benefit"
First of all that is required is a MID or several MIDs in the customer environment that have access to the targets. These are not considered agents. Discovery using Agentless discovery because we don't require an agent on every target that needs to be discovered unlike some other discovery tools in the market. That is a huge benefit without needing to maintain 100's of 1000's of agents on all the targets.
ServiceNow is a Cloud Services provider so basically it means that all data discovered is stored in the cloud and not on system in the customer environment.
So the take away is install the MID in the customer network/datacenter as close to the targets that need to be discovered. No agents are needed on the targets and all the discovered data is stored in the customer ServiceNow instance in the Cloud.
Please mark as answered if you feel your query is fullfilled.
Thanks

It is installed in your Company server to communicate with Service-now tables for integration/import/export/discovery.

Hi Swathi
The Management, Instrumentation, and Discovery (MID) Server is a Java application that runs as a Windows service or UNIX daemon. The MID Server facilitates communication and movement of data between the ServiceNow platform and external applications, data sources, and services.
The MID Server performs the following tasks:
- Communicates securely with the ServiceNow instance to determine what Discovery probes to run
- Runs Discovery probes on the local network to gather data on network devices
- Sends Discovery probe results back to the ServiceNow instance for processing
