Hi @Aryan

You can create a trend type report on the incident table and select trend by field as "created".

PFB the snap of simple YoY incident report. You can modify the filter as required.

Hope this helps.

Hi @J Siva , Can we modify this report to a drill down view so it will show like 2024 monthly data also.

like in Jan 25 Incident , Feb 30 Incident

Yes you can. Follow the below snaps to create a drill down report.

Hi Aryan,

Creating a Year-on-Year (YOY) report on the Incident table can be done using either the standard reporting module in ServiceNow or through Performance Analytics (PA). Here’s how you can approach it:

  1. Using Standard Reporting:
You can create a YOY report by grouping incidents by year and visualizing the data. To do this:
    • Go to the Reports module and create a new report.
    • Select the Incident table as the data source.
    • Use filters to include only the relevant incidents, such as filtering by date ranges or specific conditions (e.g., resolved incidents).
    • Group the data by the year the incidents were created. You can also add a secondary grouping, like priority or category, to get more detailed insights.
    • Once the report is generated, you can export it or share it with others.
  2. Using Performance Analytics (PA):
If you have Performance Analytics enabled, it provides more advanced capabilities for YOY comparisons. You can create an indicator for the Incident table, set up breakdowns (e.g., by priority or category), and use dashboards to visualize trends over time. PA also allows you to compare data from the current year to previous years, making it ideal for YOY analysis.

For more detailed steps, you can refer to ServiceNow’s official documentation on creating reports and using Performance Analytics. The following articles might be helpful:

If you’re unsure which approach to use, standard reporting is great for simpler comparisons, while Performance Analytics is better for advanced trend analysis and visualizations. Let me know if you need further help setting this up!
