Access Issue for Non-Admin Users to Edit Choice Fields (sys_choice Table)

Hi,

For non-admin users who need to edit and add values to choice fields in the sys_choice table, we tried assigning the personalize_choices role, but it did not work. Could someone please help with this? It would be very useful.

hey the role i guess is for the modification of the not the addition or creation part i guess, you need to take help of acl to do so. Please refer the below link of servicenow docs for the further clarification

From a process standpoint, this is not recommended because it involves configuration changes. To do this, a user must have admin rights. If this permission is given to all users, it could create issues, as non-admin users may not have a proper understanding of the system. This could also be considered a security violation.
