I am trying to add a field (Operational Status) to the form view (just top of the Site ID field). But this simple job is giving me grief.
As you can see below, it is telling me I am not on the correct scope to modify the form view -
Now, I am not a developer nor from the ServiceNow Admin team. However, I am trying to help our CMDB team with their backlog. Could you please advise -
1. I created an update set to modify this form view. it looks like this -
Does it mean I will need to switch from GLOBAL scope to the correct Application scope to make the necessary change (see below)?
I have the Developer role. But usually I create my own update set and make changes from there. What the implication of changing the Application scope to CMDB CI Class Models from Global Scope?
2. After adding the Operational Status Field, will it work straight away or I have to configure it? We want to use the default values and no other customization is required.

Hi @Passion_of_SNOW , Change the application scope to cmdb ci class models and make sure to create a update set in that application scope "CMDB CI CLASS MODELS" and then configure the form and save it
please mark as helpful and resolve the issue by accepting the solution

Please use configure Form layout and it will tell you the correct scope in which you need to make the changes.
Create update set in that scope and then capture the changes.
If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.
