Approval rules - managing rejected approvals

Hi !

I'm actually implementing approval rules on a RITM, in order users to be able to approve a Requested item.

It correctly generates my approval, so it's ok at this step. But when I reject an approval :

  • the RITM state stays on Open
  • the RITM stage stays on Request Approval
  • the other approval records stay on Requested

Is it a normal behaviour, and I should create business rules for managing these points ?

Or is there any hidden "approval rules results" that I should create ?

Thanks for your help !

I think it's really how your company wants to handle rejections. It also depends what level you have approvals on and if there are multiple RITM's on one REQ request. Rejecting an order, sending a notification and then marking it cancelled would be an option. In the change management world, it's common that a rejection sets it back to new state and allows the person to update their change and try again. So there are options, just depends what works for your company.
