Hello,
I was curious if anyone has ever run into an issue with a stalled approval workflow. We have a workflow currently that has two approvals one after another. One Approval-User stage, and if Approved moves on to a Approval-Group stage, if that is approved it creates a catalog task and the workflow continues. We are noticing most times that the workflow is being approved on the Approval-user stage, and the same on the Approval-group stage. But after the Approval-group stage the workflow does not continue on to generate the catalog task and is stuck in a "Running" Stage. When we look at the approval on the request we can see the first stage approver "Approved", Also we can see the first person who approved from the group stage as Approved, the group stage is set up so only one person from that group needs to approve "The First response from each group". One thing we did notice is that all the other approvers are still in a "Requested" stage on the approval. The only solution is to go into the workflow context and to nudge the workflow along. Not sure if this is a timing issue from when the request is submitted to the approval is completed(Some we have noticed are a few days).
Any info on a possible solution to this issue would be greatly appreciated as we are babysitting this workflow in the meanwhile.
Thanks,
Cobee

Hey Logan,
Thanks for the reply. Yes so when one member of the group approves, the others stay in a "Requested" state and the workflow stalls. After the nudge these approvers all move to a "No Longer Required" state.
I haven't tried the "First response from any group" option. There is only one group involved in this group stage so that may be an option.
Thanks again,
Cobee

Hello Cobee,
You can also try another User approval and put the group, then Anyone to approve as the criteria:
Please mark my answer as correct/helpful if it has helped you.
Thanks,
