Can end users be given rights to close tasks(without ITIL role)?

We would like our end users(who have the user or no role) to be able to use Visual Task boards.   They are able to create tasks, but are unable to close these tasks once opened.   Is there a way to give them permissions to close tasks without giving them the ITIL role?

Thanks,

Heather

I believe you should be asking this question to your Service Now account manager as it is somewhat related to licensing. Based on OOB process, they are not be allowed to view or close service catalog tasks. They are only granted access on requested items. However, The incident process allows an end user to close their own incidents.

For a solution to implement the closure by end user without using itil roles, you can create inbound actions on catalog task table which can achieve your requirement.

Thanks

If they created the record or if it's for the non roled user they can close it.

Otherwise they need a role.

Is a specific role required?   The user in question does have a role in the system, was able to create a board and task, but was unable to close said task.

Thanks!
