Can multiple carts be created and maintained for multiple Catalogs?

we've seen that multiple Catalogs can be set up as a way of segregating different types of request, so you can have one for IT procurement, one for Facilities, etc. This is all fine and seems to work great, apart from one thing.

Is it possible that we can create separate shopping carts for each Catalog that we create and maintain it. For instance, I might go into the IT Hardware catalog, add a few Monitors and BlackBerry Chargers to my cart, but not submit straight away. If I then go to the HR catalog, for instance, fill in a starters request for my new guy that starts on Monday, when I hit Order Now, I have unwittingly ordered all that IT kit as well.

I've always found this aspect of the Service Catalog a little frustrating. Is it any way possible to configure it in Jakarta? have I missed something here?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Allen,

Thank you for your input.

But I have the requirement that we can maintain multiple cart for a user based on different catalog/catalog items, so user can checkout one catalog item while keeping the other catalog item in thier separate cart.

Suppose we have different catalog - A & B item. Now a user add the item to cart from catalog A. after some time, users goes to catalog B and add some items in catalog B. Now if the users proceed to checkout form catalog B item page. This will create a REQ/RITM for catalog B items only. and meantime the cart and cart item for catalog A should be remain unaffected.

Hope you got my requirement.

Please advise.
