cannot view attachments

when I click on "view" an attachment in an incident, it takes me to a download page. How can I get it to let me actually view it in SN?

Hi Gerry,
By default any attachment or better we can say any record in 'sys_attachment' table can not be opened. It is downloaded directly. Please find the helpful thread: Show attachment in new window

Hi Gerry,
You cannot open or view the attachment in Service Now, It is the default behavior that it downloads the attachment when you click on it. The same happens when you try to open an attachment record in sys_attachment table.

You can not open in the same browser, snow will download it on your system by opening another browser and then you have to open. Thank you!

That's not exactly true. I was able to view them before, but we had some sort of update and I no longer can see them. My co-worker says his is working fine. We both could view docx and pdf files inside SN.
Seems like I had this problem when I first started with SN, but I can't remember the fix. I'll keep looking . . . .
