Change & Release Management

Hi - I am new to ServiceNow and just learning the ropes.

Wanted to understand if Change & Release management is used just for changes/releases for the various ServiceNow modules/applications or is it used for other applications in the company as well? For example, in a company, we use various other vendor products such as Oracle Cloud or Salesforce and internal web builds etc. If a company is using ServiceNow ITSM for change & release management, do we create Change & Release tickets for any changes for applications like Oracle and/or Salesforce as well? Or is it specifically used just for changes in ServiceNow modules like ITSM/CMDB/HRSD etc? 

I am guessing Incident is used to report outage/issues for any technology the company uses, please correct me if I am wrong.

Atul: Change and used for CI and Release for Services /product manily.

 

For example, in a company, we use various other vendor products such as Oracle Cloud or Salesforce and internal web builds etc.

Atul: Yes, create these as service / applications / infra as fitted.

 

If a company is using ServiceNow ITSM for change & release management, do we create Change & Release tickets for any changes for applications like Oracle and/or Salesforce as well? Or is it specifically used just for changes in ServiceNow modules like ITSM/CMDB/HRSD etc?
