What is the Checked_in and Checked_out date used for in Asset Management process OOB. I dont see a good description of this field in SN Docs site.
We are planning to use "Checked_in" when the asset is in inventory and "Checked_out" when it is Deployed/Onloan.
Please let me know if you have used this field in your implementation.

I would agree with your proposal; checked in should be it comes into the storeroom, either from net new purchase, employee turnover, etc., and checked out would be when it leaves the storeroom to be assigned to a person, used by a team, etc.

Ramesh: There are a lot of dates that can be used for multiple reasons
I would use the Installed date/assigned date to identify when the asset is assigned and then actually taken out of the stockroom to be deployed.
I have used the combination of Checked In/Out and Due Date for Loaner Processes.
Hope that helps.
