Child task missing assignment group after the invalid CSR submission

One of my team member submitted a certificate signing request (CSR) for certificate renewal in ServiceNow. How ever, the CSR turned out to be invalid, which led to an error during the processing. As part of certificate management workflow, a child task was created as expected. However, the assignment  group field on this child task was not populated. Ideally, the child task should have been automatically assigned to a specific assignment group, but that did not occur, likely due to the bad CSR. Could someone please help me on this issue?

You do realize we can't look into your instance? You are telling us that you have a workflow that is creating a task but not setting a field. Is the workflow set to set that field? Do you have assignment rules in place that didn't work? Do you have a flow or business rules that should do this? 

You will need to share your current setup to allow us to assist you, when something isn't working like you expect it to.

An answer like 'you need to set it dynamically from within the workflow' is a complete valid answer to your question, because nobody but you know what has been configured, and that could make it an answer that doesn't help you at all.
