Hi Eric, wish I could help, but have the same question.

In the CI field in CHG, I want users to be able to select a group, and then all CIs within that group to populate the 'affected CIs' related list.

We tried overriding the reference qualifier with "sys_class_name=cmdb_ci_server^ORsys_class_name=cmdb_group" but this didn't work.

If you have had any luck, please share

John

Not yet, but Jakarta has updates to CMDB query builder and groups. Early access to that version soon, so will let you know.

I suppose one answer would be to use the query builder and cmdb_group finctionality as it is, and then have a script to create cmdb_ci_groups containing whatever is in the matching cmdb_group. But it isn't elegant and would prefer a pure cmdb_group solution,

I am using a Personal Dev instance of Jakarta right now, which I just set up this morning, and I don't see any capabilities to use these CMDB Groups in a Change.

Yeah, I can see that as an option.   Just makes me wonder what value I am expected to get out of CMDB Groups out of box.   It looks cool but I am not seeing how they can actually be used.

(Perhaps they will demo this in the release broadcast this Thursday... hint-hint)

Hi Michael,

Would you be able to share the code for pulling CIs fromthe group to the Affected CI related list? Doesn't appear like the code is available for download on SNGuru.

I'll appreciate it!

I clicked on the link in this thread and the code is still in SNGuru, available for download.
