Hi All,

Need your inputs again.

what does 'L'(L1,L2,L3 etc) indicates in cmdb relationships. is there any limit on the numbers next to it?

Hi Santhosh,

It is relationship level. You can change the relationship level by changing the below setting.

For explanation, A is a Business Application which is directly connected to Windows Server B and Server B is related to Database Instance C. In this case if you open Business application CI (A), It will show relationship like this below

L1] B                                 - A is directly related to B

L2] [C] -->B           - A is related to C but in between it is related to B also.

I hope this explains your question.

Vivek

Hi Vivek,

Regarding your below explanation I have one query.

Query: We have one option in our ServiceNow CMDB (Helsinki ) to Relate any CI with Related Application, so is it possible to relate A (Business Application) with C (Database Instance), since it is L2 Relationship?
