Hi All,
I am using create outage functionality in Change Management. However my requirement is that it should be enabled only at Implement Phase.
Please suggest solution.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Punit,
Intrigued why you would want to create an outage record only at Implement Phase. Not saying that this is wrong - just intrigued and keen to understand the reason/use case.
In our Change Management process we are enabling the Task-Outage Relationship plug-in so that the Planned Outage records can be logged during the planning phase of the Change i.e. before the Assessment and Approval phases. This then would allow the Change Approvers to have sight of any Planned Outages that this Change would cause - and approve the change or otherwise on that basis.

Hi Martin,
Shouldn't your planned changed be visible is some kind of change calender? Feels kind of wrong to have that in the outage table. Then you missing functions like blackout window etc.

Hi Goran,
The way we are gong to use it is that the Affected CIs list still has to be populated - and this then catches the Blackout Windows etc logic.
The purpose of the Outages is to record which of the Affected CIs/Impacted Services will have an outage.

Hi All,
Reason for using outage at implement phase is that it has fields - Begin , End and Duration. If we are at implementation phase then only actual implementation starts. At implement phase we can record/capture the start time of outage by clicking on Begin and end it by clicking on End, so that actual outage duration can be calculated in Duration field.

hi people,
did anyone had to do anything similar in recent releases?
we have ask to disabling outage start and end date being editable to all ITIL Users except Change team post requesting approval (assess, authorize and implement) only. as it's an embedded list in change form we are tackling this via ACL and I wanted to check if anyone had similar challenges recently.
thanks,
Vadim
