Disable auditing for catalog item variable

Hello community.

One of the fields present in a catalog item contains sensitive information and the client wants us to remove it from audit history. Is there a way to disable auditing for catalog item variables? I found the 'no_audit' attribute solution, but it isn't working on catalog variables as variable attributes support limited handful attributes. Any other way one can achieve this? Also, is it possible to use the 'no_audit' solution for catalog variables in any way?

Sorry butI think there is no supported way to disable auditing for individual catalog variables. The recommended approach is to avoid storing sensitive data in variables and instead process it transiently, store it in a separate custom table with auditing disabled, or use attachments with restricted access.
