Step 1 – Select the Service Operations Workspace
- Once UI Builder is open, you will see a list of available workspaces
- Look for "Service Operations Workspace" from the list
- Click on it to open it
- This workspace is specifically used by service agents and operators to manage incidents, cases, and on-call schedules
Step 2 – Open an SRP Record
- Inside the Service Operations Workspace, navigate to an SRP (Service Record Page) Record
- This is the page that displays detailed information about a specific service item like an Incident or Case
- Click on any record to open it
Step 3 – Navigate to the Tab Sidebar
- Once the SRP record is open, look at the layout of the page
- You will notice a Sidebar on the side of the record that contains multiple tabs
- These tabs are the navigation items that agents use to switch between different sections like On Call Scheduling, Escalations, etc.
- Click on the "Tab Sidebar" section to select it
Step 4 – Click on Edit Content
- After selecting the Tab Sidebar, you will see an option called "Edit Content" which will be highlighted
- Click on Edit Content
- This option allows you to manage what appears inside the sidebar tabs
Step 5 – You will be Redirected to "SOW – Sidebar Tabs Top" Page Collection
- After clicking Edit Content, ServiceNow will automatically redirect you to a page called "SOW – Sidebar Tabs Top"
- This is a page collection — think of it as a master list that controls all the tabs shown in the sidebar
- Here you will see all the sidebar navigation items that are currently active and visible in the workspace
Step 6 – Select the Item You Want to Remove
- Browse through the list of sidebar items shown in the page collection
- Identify the one you want to disable or hide from the sidebar
- For this example, we are selecting "On Call Scheduling" to remove it from the sidebar
- Click on it to open its details
Step 7 – Open the On Call Escalations SNC Record
- After selecting On Call Scheduling, it will open the related SNC (ServiceNow Configuration) record
- In this case, it opens the "On Call Escalations" SNC record
- This record controls the behavior and visibility of that particular sidebar tab
Step 8 – Go to Settings and Uncheck the Active Field
- Inside the SNC record, look for the "Settings" section
- You will find a field called "Active"
- By default, this checkbox will be checked (enabled), which means the tab is visible in the sidebar
- Uncheck the Active checkbox to disable the tab
- Click Save to apply the changes
Step 9 – Verify the Changes
- Go back to the Service Operations Workspace
- Open any SRP record and look at the sidebar
- You should now see that "On Call Scheduling" is no longer visible in the sidebar navigation
- This confirms that the tab has been successfully disabled
