Do Service Catalog items in Portal respect variable width?

In Kingston, I am trying to migrate several catalog items from the old CMS catalog to the Service Portal Catalog. I have noticed that the variable's width does not appear to be applied in the service portal catalog items. Variables that should only be 50% width show up at full width instead of half width as expected.

Can anyone else confirm this is happening to them and if so have you found a work around allow variables of different widths on the catalog item forms?

Per a response I received from Service Now HI, variable width is not supported in Service Portal at this time.

Hi Austin,

Take a look here: Service Catalog on Service Portal

It might give you a good ground to stand on. But I promise you will pull your hair sometimes along the road until you get it like you want.

Thanks Göran

The info in that article is a good starting place for working with catalog in service portal, but does not answer my question. From what I can tell from what I've tried in developer instances and in the instance that the portal is being developed in; it looks like service portal does not support the variable width field on catalog item variables, as of Kingston Patch 1.

I am trying to keep items that are 25% or 50% of the form width and not in a container in non service portal catalog forms that size when I move them to service portal. I have built the iframe solution myself in a Helsinki instance and have already had some trouble with upgrading to Kingston with that in place. Using iframes is not a long term solution.

At this time, or 4 years later. 😕

I just tested this (again) and variable widths still aren't supported in the Portal.
