Email Client Not working as expected - SC task table

We recently encountered an issue where attachments were not received when an email was sent from an SC task. Upon investigation, I found that the email client was configured for the SC task.
Expected Behavior: When an email with attachments is sent, the attachments should also sync to the corresponding RITM. We already have a business rule in place to sync attachments from the RITM to the SC task, but this does not seem to work in this email scenario.
Any suggestions?

I believe the attachments will be added to the email if the attachments were already attached to the sc_task record before email was sent and "Include attachments" is true in Notification record.
