external.authentication.failed message digest

Hi everybody,

I have an instance which is showing an "external.authentication.failed" message constantly(once or twice every minute)

Log for this event shows as a first parameter the session ID, and the second, "Authentication requirement missing".

This happens only for the guest user. I tried to disable it, but the message kept on repeating.

Apparently, there is no script action, business rule or scheduled job running a"gs.eventqueue()" instruction for this event.

Instance seems to be using "digest" authentication.

Do you know what could be happening?

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Javier.

This is an older post but I came across it while I was looking up this information. I found the below snippet from Now Support and hopefully it will help others if they land here in their search.

External (SSO IdP) Login

For 'external' (i.e. SSO IdP) login either an external.authentication.succeeded or external.authentication.failed Event will be created. The Parm1 will be either the username or (in some situations) the sys_id of the session record. Parm2 will be the error string, usually 'Authentication failed'.
