Hide a catalog item from Service Portal/CMS but do not disable from being used.

Hello,

I would like to hide a catalog item from the Service Portal/CMS but I do not want to disable from being used.  I have another Catalog item (parent) that uses/calls a Child catalog item.  So I don't want the child catalog item to be selectable within the Serice Portal/CMS page(s), but it needs to stay active or usable from a URL link perspective.  Anyone know how to achieve this?

Hi

Each category is related to a catalog. So you place it in a another catalog which is not selected as your service portal's "catalog".

This solution only works in service portal and not the CMS.

by using user criteria you can restrict the catalog item to only admin

On the catalog item form add the Available for related list

Select users with admin role criteria

Hi DVP,

I get your solution but it still needs to be available for 'everyone' (ESS user), just not view-able from the Portal/CMS.   Basically hidden from view on the Portal/CMS but still available from a URL link by all users.   Lars solution works, but always good to know if there is another method.

if you don't want to associate to any catalog then clear out catalog and category fields.

How to hide a Catalog item in Service Portal

Hide of Service Portal (hide_sp) field present in every catalog item and this true/false field helps in hiding the catalog item in Service Portal.

1. Navigate to Maintain Items
2. Personalize the list 
3. Add 'Hide on Service Portal' field to the list
4. Now, 'Hide on Service Portal' is true/false values for respective catalog items

Hide on Service Portal with value 'true' refers to hide the Catalog item on Service Portal

Hide on Service Portal with value 'false' results to show the Catalog item on Service Portal
