How to add button to portal widgets

Can someone please explain step by step how to add button to the portal widgets. I need to add third button called Put-on hold. in addition to these two buttons.

press cntrl+shift+right click  placing the cursor over the widget.... Select open the widget in widget editor. Modify the HTML and Client script to add a button. If this is an OOB widget, it is advisable to clone the widget and modify that widget and place it in the portal
