How to add Incident Overview Dashboard in Service Operations Workspace?

Have you added Incident Overview Dashboard in Service Operations Workspace?

We are trying to add Incident Overview Dashboard that comes out of the box into Service Operations Workspace Landing Page. UI Builder has Dashboard Overview component but it doesn't give the OOTB Incident Overview Dashboard.

Does anyone have idea on how we can do this?

HI @Ravi_shrestha

To add the Incident Overview Dashboard to the Service Operations Workspace landing page, you’ll need to customize the workspace using UI Builder. Unfortunately, as you noted, the Dashboard Overview component in UI Builder doesn't automatically provide the Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) Incident Overview Dashboard.

Here’s how you can approach this:

Steps to Add the OOTB Incident Overview Dashboard:

  1. Create a Dashboard in the Service Operations Workspace:

    • First, ensure that the Incident Overview dashboard is created and available in the Dashboards module.
    • Navigate to Self-Service > Dashboards and confirm that the Incident Overview Dashboard exists.
  2. Capture the Dashboard URL or ID:

    • If the dashboard is available, capture its sys_id (you can find this in the URL when you open the dashboard or via the list view for dashboards).
  3. Use the Dashboard Overview Component:

    • Open UI Builder and navigate to the Service Operations Workspace experience.
    • Find the landing page or the page where you want to add the Incident Overview.
    • Add the Dashboard Overview component to the page.
  4. Configure the Dashboard Overview Component:

    • Once the component is added, use the sys_id of the Incident Overview Dashboard that you retrieved in Step 2.
    • In the Properties pane of the Dashboard Overview component, set the Dashboard ID to the sys_id of the Incident Overview dashboard.
  5. Test the Configuration:

    • Once the dashboard is added, preview or publish the workspace to test if the Incident Overview Dashboard appears on the landing page.

Alternative Approach – Embedding the Dashboard in a Page:

If the Dashboard Overview component does not give the desired result, you can create a new page in UI Builder and embed the Incident Overview Dashboard directly using the sys_id.

  1. Create a Custom Page:

    • In UI Builder, create a new page or use an existing one.
    • Add a component that allows embedding dashboards or reports.
  2. Embed the Dashboard:

    • Use the sys_id of the Incident Overview Dashboard and configure the page to display it.
  3. Add the Page to the Landing Page:

    • Add a link or direct access to this custom page from the Service Operations Workspace landing page.

This should give you a functioning Incident Overview Dashboard on the landing page. Let me know if you need more detailed steps on any specific part!
