How to Hide Categories in service Portal ?

Hi Team,

I have a requirement, In service portal user click on category Hardware , Hardware related Items is List out Under Hardware Then all categories are Hide , Then user Click on Service catalog all categories are displayed in service portal How can I do this ,Please Help me on this.

Are you trying to hide the category to specific groups?

For example I have a category called Internal IT, and its only available if the person logged in is tied to our Technology department.

This is achieved by changing the available for / not available for on the item itself.

In here you can build groups based on Department / Group / Email etc

So I have a group called Technology and it includes the Department named Technology

Then in the Not Available for, I have a group called Not Technology, and it includes ALL Departments EXCEPT Technology

Then on the Portal, anyone outside of Tech, doesn't see this category.

The only hang up I've found is you have to do this for EVERY item you put in that section.  Hope that helps.
