How to make a record producer into a request?

I have a custom workflow whenever a Roadside Insurance Assistance record producer is filled out and inserted into my custom RSA table. I want the Insurance agent who requested it and the customer who they are requesting it for both to be able to see the record in their "my requests" section under self service.
I already enabled the two-step checkout but it does not work for record producers. How can I make the two-step checkout (which allows me to fill out a "requested for" field) work for a record producer or turn my record producer into a request. Thanks!

You cannot use 2-step checkout with record producers. The only thing you can do is create a 'Requested for' variable and map that to a field on your target record that gets created by the producer.

Okay,but this won't function as an actual requested for field right? Just a substitute? Therefore it won't show in my requests I think unless I am misunderstanding.

Nothing in a record producer actuallly functions as an actual field on the record you create. They can simply map their value onto a true field on the table. In order for this to work you need to create an actual 'Requested for' field on the table you're creating the record on...if the field doesn't already exist there.
