How to prepare for Certified Application Developer certification?

Hello developers!

I am preparing for Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification from NowLearning as per my awareness.

However, in order to achieve this certification, I would also need your guidance on how to prepare for the same. Can anyone let me know, what is the difficulty level for this certification, how much time it takes for preparation and the optimal way to prepare for the same.

Every suggestion will be highly appreciated and will help me in my preparation.

Thanks in Advance!

Diksha

Hi @Diksha_Tiwari 1 ,

Preparing for the Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification from ServiceNow involves a combination of studying the official documentation, hands-on experience, and practice. Here are some suggestions:

1. **Official Documentation:**

   - Familiarize yourself with the ServiceNow documentation, especially the content related to application development. Pay attention to topics on scripting, workflows, UI policies, and integrations.

2. **ServiceNow Fundamentals:**

   - Ensure a strong understanding of fundamental concepts in ServiceNow, including tables, forms, fields, business rules, and client scripts.

3. **Training Courses:**

   - Take advantage of NowLearning and any official training courses provided by ServiceNow. These courses are designed to cover the material relevant to the certification.

4. **Hands-on Practice:**

   - Gain practical experience by working on real-world scenarios within the ServiceNow platform. Set up your developer instance and practice building applications, workflows, and customizations.

5. **Sample Exams and Practice Tests:**

   - Look for sample exams or practice tests that simulate the certification exam environment. This can help you get familiar with the question format and time constraints.

6. **Community and Forums:**

   - Engage with the ServiceNow community and forums. Discussing challenges and solutions with experienced developers can provide valuable insights and tips.

7. **Difficulty Level and Time Commitment:**

   - The difficulty level can vary depending on your prior experience with ServiceNow and application development. If you have a strong foundation, it may be less challenging.

   - Allocate dedicated time for preparation, considering your existing workload. A few weeks of focused study and practice should be sufficient for most individuals.

8. **Optimal Way to Prepare:**

   - Create a study plan outlining the topics you need to cover.

   - Mix theoretical understanding with practical application through hands-on exercises.

   - Utilize official documentation as your primary reference.

   - Take breaks during study sessions to maintain focus.

Remember to regularly check the ServiceNow website for any updates or changes to the certification exam content. Good luck with your preparation!

Thanks,

Danish

Hi @Diksha_Tiwari 1

Ebook or Now Learning Training is the best one. As CAD is from development side, so better and recommended to clear the scripting fundamentals. Also go through CAD blue print to understand section wise weightage.

Rest do labs 3-4 times and get ready for exam.
