How to use variables of catalog items in notifications.

Hi All,
I have a catalog item once submitted the RITM will be created. Once the RITM is created I am creating few notifications based on status of the RITM. In the notification subject and body, I need to use the variables of catalog item, (e.g., In catalog item I have name variable, that variable I should use it in body subject and body) How to do this Please provide some pointers on this.
