I set up Okta Authentication SSO, but the login method does not switch.
I entered the settings for Identity Provider on Snow as well.
Can you think of a reason why local user ID authentication is still used instead of Okta authentication?

HI @ayano ,
I trust you are doing great.

There could be a few reasons why this issue is occurring. Let's explore some possible causes and solutions:

  1. Verify Okta Integration Settings: Ensure that the Okta integration settings in ServiceNow are correctly configured. Double-check the configuration, including the Okta URL, client ID, and client secret, to ensure they are accurate.

  2. Check ServiceNow Instance Settings: Confirm that the ServiceNow instance is properly configured to utilize Okta as the preferred authentication method. Review the system properties related to authentication, such as 'glide.authenticate.strict', to ensure they are appropriately set.

  3. Check Okta Configuration: Validate the Okta configuration and settings to ensure they are aligned with ServiceNow requirements. Verify the Single Sign-On (SSO) settings in Okta, such as the SAML endpoint URL, Assertion Consumer Service URL, and certificate configurations.

  4. Test Connectivity and Communication: Ensure there is proper connectivity and communication between ServiceNow and Okta. Test the connection from ServiceNow to Okta using tools like cURL or Postman to verify that the authentication flow is working as expected.

  5. Review Okta Login Flow: Review the Okta login flow and ensure it is configured correctly to trigger the desired authentication behavior in ServiceNow. Confirm that the necessary Okta policies, rules, and groups are set up appropriately to authorize users for ServiceNow access.

  6. Troubleshoot Error Logs: Examine the error logs in ServiceNow and Okta for any relevant error messages or warnings. These logs can provide valuable insights into the root cause of the issue.

Hi,

Thank you for your comment.

Is there any other way to switch the authentication method for login other than this setting on the Snow instance?
