Import Set transform map to multiple tables?

I have an excel spreadsheet that I would like to import. We have one field on the document that resides on a second table in SN. Is there any way to point this column to another table in the transform map? The option is there, but when I try it, I get an error that the field is not on the target table. This may not be possible, but it will save a lot of manual data entry if I can make it work.

Thanks for any help!

Jason

I see two options for solving this:

1. You create an additional Transform Map that targets this other table.
2. You implement the modification of the other table as a script.

I would try to go for the first option. You can always run both transformations at the same time so there should not be any overhead. You might have to make sure that they run in the correct order.

Thanks for the suggestions! I tried #1 with the same result. I used my original transform map and removed the field that should go on another table. I created a second map just for that field. I then ran them (original first), and I can't see a difference in the data. I also still see the errors in the logs. I don't know if it matters or not, but I am trying to import software license data into the new SAM module. The field that I am having trouble with is the "entitlement" which is on it's own table. I am trying to entitle the license to a computer CI.

Again thanks for the help.

Did you ever figure out how to do this? I'm looking for the same type of import. I will have thousands of licenses to import and would like to import the entitlement along with the license and not have to manually try to link the license to a PC.
