Include hyperlink in text for checkbox variable(for catalog item)

I created a checkbox variable in catalog item. I'm trying to include hyperlink in my question but, it's not displaying as hyperlink in portal page . I tried<a> href =url https://www.google.com </a> but didn't work. Please suggest me how to include hyperlink in my text
