Inquiry - What is/are the default roles for a newly created user?

Hello and Good Afternoon.

 

Just curious what is/are the default role(s) assigned to a newly created user and in which configuration can I see this.  Reason is when creating a new user, the "Roles" tab  is empty so I can't seem to find where this is configured and where can these be re-configured.

Hi @kydomingo 

 

When we create a new user, no role will get assigned to that user explicitly i.e. reason the role "Related List" show empty. As a admin, you can add user in groups and then from group the user will get the role. Never ever assign a role directly to a user , it is not a best practice.

Hi @kydomingo,

 

When you create any new user then no new role will be assigned. For best practice, we create the group and grant role as per the business requirement(Suppose a person is hired for Change management then we will provide the relevant role to group then we will add the user in this group.)
