Is there a way to create a walk-up appointment during a catalog item workflow?

I have tried doing it through a workflow script, a business rule, and event trigger into a Flow.  Nothing seems to meet all requirements.  Workflow script, no errors but no appointment.  Business rule and Flow, I cannot seem to map the variables from the item to the appointment.

So you want the end user to create an appointment at some point in the flow? 
Use an email notification that links to the appointment booking widget and includes the variables you need in the URL through an email script. A client script can get the variables from the URL.
