What is a Module ?

 1.The functionality within an application menu such as opening a page in the content frame or a separate tab or window.

or

2.A way of helping users quickly access information and services by ltering the items in the Application Navigator

what could be the best defiontion for module.

Its the first one if you are looking at it from a definition perspective.
