I am working on a POC to determine the feasibility of replicating a Palo Alto-style UI in a ServiceNow Catalog Item.
Requirement:
- User selects Category, Subcategory, Technology, Risk, and Tags.
- Based on the selected values, matching applications should be filtered dynamically.
- The filtered applications should be displayed in a tabular/grid format (similar to a data table) rather than a standard list collector.
- Users should be able to select one or multiple applications from the displayed results.
- Selected applications should be stored as part of the catalog request.
Questions:
- What is the recommended approach to achieve this in ServiceNow?
- Can this be implemented using only Catalog Variables, MRVS, and List Collectors, or is a custom solution required?
- Has anyone implemented a similar requirement using UI Builder Data Table, Service Portal Widget, or another OOTB approach?
- What would be the best approach for handling a large number of application records while maintaining good performance?
Any suggestions, examples, or best practices would be appreciated.
